Elizabeth Freund Larus (PhD) is Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at the University of Mary Washington. She is author of three books, Politics and Society in Contemporary China (two editions) and
Economic Reform in China, as well as more than 25 book chapters and scholarly articles.

Prof. Larus speaks Mandarin. She lived and worked in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and frequently conducts field research in Taipei,
Beijing and Shanghai.

She is visiting UMCS as a Fulbright Scholar in the Spring Semester 2020.
