The Archives and Museum of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University are pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the patron of our University Maria Skłodowska-Curie. Time and place of the event: October 23, 2019, 9:00 a.m. in the main hall of the UMCS Museum (Building of the UMCS Main Library, 11 Radziszewskiego Street). The exhibition will be available to visitors until the end of November this year. All memebrs of UMCS community are welcome!
The exhibition is based mainly on photographs made available by the Musée Curie in Paris and the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw. Most of them are materials presented in our Museum for the first time. The exhibition, unlike many previous ones, does not present the scientific achievements of Maria Cirie-Skłodowska , the multiple Nobel laureate, but focuses on her family and social relationships.
The exhibition will be opened by JM Rector of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University prof. Stanisław Michałowski in the presence of prof. Pierre Joliot - a well-known biochemist and grandson of the Nobel laureate, who on October 24 this year will be awarded with the honorary doctorate degree from UMCS.
