On October 16, 2024, the Rector of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS), Prof. Radosław Dobrowolski, and the Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, Prof. Wiesław Gruszecki, were hosted by the editorial team of Radio Zet, the media patron of the University's 80th anniversary celebrations. In an interview with editor Aleksandra Pucułek, the university representatives discussed UMCS's historical significance and its prominent role in the academic landscape of Poland and Europe. The conversation also touched upon the transformative changes the University has undergone over the years, highlighting key scientific achievements and addressing the current challenges and objectives that UMCS faces.
The meeting at Radio Zet also provided an opportunity to review the progress of the 80th anniversary celebration events and to extend an invitation to the upcoming International Maria Curie-Skłodowska Congress, titled *Innovation is a Woman: Science - Business - Education*, which will take place on October 21 and 22, 2024, at the Lublin Conference Center.
