The Anti-Discrimination Procedure in Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin

The purpose of introducing the Anti-Discrimination Procedure at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University is to support activities that foster good cooperation between all members and members of the University community, and in particular to counteract any manifestation of discrimination and unequal treatment. Its task is also to promote equality, tolerance and respect for diversity, as well as to strengthen relations between members of the University's academic community based on the principle of non-discrimination and respect for personal dignity.

The Procedure specifies the manner and procedure for each Member and Member of the academic community (employee and employee of any type and level, doctoral student and doctoral candidate, as well as student and student) to report potential situations of discrimination, as well as the rules for conducting investigations in this regard. The procedure also emphasizes that any member of the UMCS community who feels discriminated against has the right to expect the University to take measures to eliminate such phenomena, to offset their effects, and to apply the sanctions provided by the law to those committing the violation in question.

Part of the University's anti-discrimination policy is also the appointment of Faculty Consultants, whose task is to support and assist members of the academic community affected by discriminatory behavior at the University or related to the University's activities.

The Procedure was developed by the Equality Team in consultation with a wide range of representatives of the University community. The adoption of the Anti-Discrimination Procedure is one of the measures taken as part of the implementation of the Gender Equality Plan at UMCS.
