RECTOR
OF MARIA CURIE-SKŁODOWSKA UNIVERISTY IN LUBLIN
announces a competition for the position of an Assistant Professor in the group of 
research and teaching staff in the Laboratory for Studies on the Literary Institute in Paris,
at the Institute of Social Communication and Media Sciences,
at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism UMCS
 
The competition may be entered by individuals who meet the requirements specified in the 
Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742) and
in the UMCS Statute of May 29, 2019, as amended.
 
COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- a doctoral degree in the field of humanities;
- proof of active participation in scientific life;
- publications in the following areas of research: press history, emigration journalism, emigration media and those published in the so-called second circulation;
- publications in prestigious journals relevant to the discipline;
- scientific achievements after obtaining the doctoral degree;
- experience in teaching at a university;
- organizational achievements;
- experience in international cooperation;
- knowledge of English, level B2.
 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- employment under a fixed-term employment contract from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. full-time, in the primary workplace.

 

The deadline for submitting documents is July 16, 2024 till 12:00
The competition results will be announced by September 9, 2024.
 
Before entering into an employment relationship, the candidate selected in the competition is obliged to provide the originals or copies or certified copies of the documents referred to in point II of this announcement to the address indicated in point IV.

 

The university does not provide housing.
The results of the competition do not result in the establishment of an employment relationship. The decision on employment is made by the Rector.
The University reserves the right to close the competition without a result.

Candidates are required to provide data in the scope resulting from Article 22 of the Labour Code and specific provisions concerning employment in a given position. Providing data in a broader scope than required by the provisions is voluntary. The basis for data processing is the law and consent, in relation to data exceeding the area resulting from the provisions.

In accordance with Article 7 paragraph 3 of the General Data Protection Regulation, in relation to data exceeding the scope provided for by law, the data subject has the right to withdraw their consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

In accordance with Articles 15 to 21 and Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation, the data subject has the right to access, rectify, delete or limit processing, and the right to object to the processing, as well as to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, as well as the right to transfer data. The collected personal data will not be sold or made available to third parties, except for those authorized under the law, nor will they be transferred to third countries or international organizations, contrary to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.

The data will be processed by UMCS during the recruitment period, and in the case of data processed on the basis of consent, until a possible objection is raised or consent is withdrawn, and after that time for archival purposes, in accordance with UMCS procedures, as well as for the purposes and for the period and in to the extent required by law to secure any claims.

The recipients of personal data may be entities authorized under the law and entities that process personal data on behalf of the Administrator, based on a concluded contract for entrusting the processing of personal data.You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory body - the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw).

The data you provide will not be processed for the purpose of automated decision-making, and will not be subject to profiling.

- a candidate's declaration that UMCS will be their primary workplace;


- a candidate's declaration that they agree to the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation);
