R E C T O R

OF MARIA CURIE-SKŁODOWSKA UNIVERSITY  IN LUBLIN (UMCS)

hereby announces an open competition for the position of assistant lecturer in the group of research and teaching staff at the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology in the Institute of Legal Sciences at the Faculty of Law and Administration of UMCS

 

The competition is open to those who meet the requirements specified in the Act Law on Higher Education
and Science
of 20 July 2018 (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2023 item 742 as amended) and the Charter of UMCS of 29 May 2019 as amended.

 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS UNDER THE COMPETITION:

- a PhD degree in law;

- skills and abilities needed for research and teaching work, attested with an opinion given by a senior research and teaching staff member;

- scientific achievements in the field of broadly understood criminal law, in the form of publications in highly  scored journals listed by the Ministry of Education and Science and in at least one peer-reviewed scientific monograph;

- at least 3 years of experience in teaching related to criminal law, fiscal criminal law, international criminal law and criminology;

-  experience in organizational work at a university;

-  experience in raising external funds for the financing of scientific activity;

 - experience in practical application of law;

- very good command of spoken and written Polish;

-  good command of English and German attested with a certificate of at least B2 level for at least one of the above mentioned languages, allowing for the independent use of the relevant foreign language literature;

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- employment under a contract of employment for an indefinite period from  1 October 2024,full-timeemployment,  at the primary place of employment.

The deadline for submitting the documents is 8 July 2024.

The competition will be concluded on or before -16 July 2024

 Before establishing an employment relationship, the candidate selected in the competition is obliged to provide the originals or certified copies of the documents referred to in point II of this announcement to the address indicated in point IV.

 

The University does not provide housing.

The mere fact of concluding the competition does not result in entering into an employment relationship. The decision about employment is the responsibility of the Rector of the University.

The University reserves the right to close the competition procedure without taking any conclusive decision.

The administrator of your personal data is the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin with its registered office at Pl. Marii Curie - Skłodowskiej 5, 20-031 Lublin (hereinafter: UMCS). UMCS has appointed a person to supervise the issues of personal data processing, who can be contacted at: iod@mail.umcs.pl.

The applicant is required to provide data as specified in Article 22 1  of the Polish Labour Code and specific employment regulations applicable for a given position. Providing data in a wider scope than required by the regulations is voluntary. For data that goes beyond the regulatory area, the data processing shall be based on the relevant law and consent.

Pursuant to Article 7(3) of the General Data Protection Regulation, for data which goes beyond the scope set out in applicable law, the data subject shall have the right to withdraw his or her consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

According to Articles 15 to 21 and Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation, the data subject has the right of access to data, rectification, deletion or limitation of processing and the right to object to the processing, and to lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority, as well as the right to transfer the data. The personal data collected will not be sold or made available to third parties, except for those authorised by law, and will not be transferred to third countries or international organizations, in a manner that would be contrary to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.

The data will be processed by UMCS during the recruitment period, and for data processed on the basis of a consent, it will be processed until any objection or withdrawal of consent is filed, and after that for archival purposes, in accordance with UMCS' procedures, and for the purposes, for the period and in the scope required by law to secure any claims.

The recipients of personal data may be entities authorized under the law and entities that process personal data on behalf of the Administrator, based on a concluded contract for entrusting the processing of personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory body - the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa).

The data you provide will not be processed for the purpose of automated decision-making, and will not be subject to profiling.

- the candidate's statement that he/she consents to the processing of personal data, pursuant to Article 6 (1) (a) of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation);


- credentials, opinion on the candidate's skills and abilities to perform the research and teaching work.
