The theme of this special issue is Changes in the Regimes of Glacial and Permafrost-Influenced Watersheds in the High Arctic. This publication aims to present the latest research findings on the river systems in the High Arctic, covering various sources of water supply.

We invite submissions from authors of both review and research articles. The thematic scope of this issue includes, among other topics:

  • Changes in Arctic hydrological processes across different timescales,
  • Surface and river runoff,
  • Permafrost degradation and overland flow,
  • Changes in the hydrological regime of Arctic rivers,
  • River flow dynamics and changes in river geochemistry,
  • Summertime flow conditions and channel flow hydrodynamics.

The submission deadline is 25 June 2025. Papers will be published on an ongoing basis immediately after acceptance, which enhances visibility and promotes more frequent citations. Water is a fully open-access journal (providing unlimited and free access for readers), further supporting the promotion of published work.
