From 17 to 21 April 2023, ATHENA will be present at the Hannover Messe (English: Hanover fair) 2023 in Hanover, Germany, one of the biggest trade fairs for industry development worldwide. Coordinated by University of Siegen, ATHENA contributes as one of 19 exhibitors to the joint stand of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the federal state of Germany in which Siegen is located.
At the fair, five ATHENA partners will showcase different exhibits on IoT, robotics, and smart sensing. In addition to University of Siegen, Polytechnic Institute of Porto, University of Maribor, University of Orléans, and Carinthia University of Applied Sciences will be present.
A variety of offers for companies
The exhibits draw attention to ATHENA’s main research fields: automation, digitalisation, and sensor technology. The five universities will display examples of projects, technologies, and products to improve the human experience of work. A special focus lies on the interaction between humans and machines.
By participating in the Hannover Messe 2023, ATHENA has a unique opportunity to directly reach out to international business stakeholders and promote its offers to industry. Companies can use the ATHENA network to establish new contacts for joint research and benefit from further training offers for their employees. Moreover, they get access to a large pool of highly skilled international students and graduates, e.g., through ATHENA’s project and internship platform PRAXIS. Finally, companies are also welcome to join the ATHENA Career Service and actively contribute to various initiatives to prepare students for an industrial career and the international labour market.
You will find ATHENA at the joint stand of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in hall 7, stand D09.
About Hannover Messe
The Hannover Messe first took place in 1947 to support the economic recovery of Germany after World War II. Since then, it has developed into one of the most important international trade fairs. The Hannover Messe is held annually on Hanover fairground, the largest exhibition area in the world. It is labelled “Home of Industrial Pioneers” and serves as a meeting platform for the development of new technologies and their presentation to the general public. Pre-covid, the fair welcomed about 250,000 visitors and 6,500 exhibitors. After two digital fairs in 2020 and 2021 and a smaller edition in 2022, the Hannover Messe will be back in full size and presence this year.
Free tickets for visitors
Industry representatives and all other interested parties are warmly welcome to visit ATHENA at the fair, learn about the exhibits, and discover opportunities for joint research projects and further training offers.
