The host company has 40+years’ experience working in the design, innovation, and precision of custom moulded plastic parts. You will find their innovative thermoformed products in all manner of sectors including automotive, aerospace, and medical to name but a few. Offering full CAM/CAD design and advanced manufacturing facilities they can turn ideas into production parts within weeks or days rather than months.
• Degree in mechanical, mechatronics, manufacturing engineering or related fields
• Knowledge of mechanics basics, terminology, and practices
• Ability to challenge existing processes and identify improvement
• CAD skills (Solidworks is preferable)
• IT literate (Office 365)
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Keen eye for detail
• Happy to work independently or as part of a team
• Experience with collaborative robots
• Good spoken and written English levels are required (B2 onwards)
• Collate and map out technical procedures for mechanical automated and manual processes
• Record and document technical processes
• Work in a multi-functional team to produce a series of diagrams, videos, interactive technology to be used when setting up production processes
• Support in overviewing and setting up the production machinery, rectifying the problems, and recording the solutions adopted when a problem occurs
• Work closely between design team and manufacturing technicians to create and document production process for new products
• Assist in fault finding and identify solutions
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven Engineering student, or similar, to gain hands-on experience with a UK leader in vacuum formed plastics. Mentored throughout, you will work closely with the technicians to gain a practical appreciation and mechanical understanding of manufacturing processes using up to date equipment. You will gain a deeper understanding into engineering fault finding and solutions for mechanical systems, day to day technical processes involved in efficiently setting up a variety of equipment and exposure to Aerospace standard quality processes. This is a great chance to showcase your skills and learn from the leaders in this industry sector.
