on application deadlines and the rules for confirming the assigned places in the UMCS Residence Halls in the 2023/2024 academic year, in the first round of application
1. The I round of applying for accommodation in the UMCS Residence Halls for the 2023/2024 academic year will take place from 9 to 30 June, 2023 only via the USOSweb.
2. The I round of applications will apply to current UMCS students: I to IV-year students of long-cycle programmes, I, II-year bachelor’s degree students (3-year programmes), I, II and III-year engineer’s degree students (3,5-year programmes), I-year students of second-cycle (master’s degree) programmes, current doctoral students, the participants of doctoral programmes (provided they are still conducted) and I to III-year doctoral students who will continue their education.
3. A person who has been assigned a place in a residence hall in the 2023/2024 academic year is required to confirm the reservation in two stages:
4. The deposit/booking fee referred to in item 1 is a one-time payment and amounts to PLN 400.
5. The deposit/booking fee shall be transferred to student’s/doctoral student’s account and retained there. The account number for the payment can be found in the USOSweb -> Common Section -> Payments -> bank accounts of the university.
6. The failure to pay the fee by 26 July 2023 (the payment date is considered to be the date on which the University’s account is credited) shall result in cancelling the reservation of the place in the UMCS dormitory in the 2023/2024 academic year, even if it was confirmed in the USOSweb system.
7. Reapplying for a place in a UMCS Residence Hall shall be possible if there will be places available after the second round of application (i.e. after September 19, 2023).
8. The deposit/booking fee shall be refunded to a student/doctoral student on the basis of the guidelines concerning exploiting UMCS Residence Halls and the Academic Canteen constituting part VII of the Regulations of social benefits for UMCS students.

The deposit is not refundable if the student/doctoral student has caused damage referred to in the guidelines concerning exploiting the UMCS Residence Halls and the Academic Canteen constituting part VII of the Regulations of social benefits for UMCS students. The cost of restoring to the original state will be comparable to the amount of the deposit. If the cost of restoring the room or its equipment or the area and common rooms in the Dormitory will be higher, then the student/doctoral student shall bear the full cost of damage, in accordance with the cost estimate.
