On 11 July 2022, a meeting occurred between Maria Curie-Sklodowska University representatives and a delegation from Gediminas Technical University in Vilnius. The meeting was unusual because it took place via a portal linking our two cities.
The meeting aimed to strengthen relations between the universities, which work together as part of the ATHENA Consortium of European Universities. Together with other universities from across the continent, Maria Curie-Sklodowska University carries out activities in advanced technologies in higher education. On behalf of the UMCS, the meeting was attended by Prof. Wiesław Gruszecki, Ph.D. D.Sc., Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation; Prof. Dorota Kołodyńska, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Education, Ph.D. D.Sc; Assoc. Prof. Arkadiusz Bereza, Vice-Rector for General Affairs, Ph.D. LL.D.; Diana Szczepańska, Head of International Cooperation Center; Karolina Sokolińska, Director of Educational Project’s Office; and Monika Kusiej from the Promotion Center.
From the Vilnius-Tech side, the meeting was attended by dr Živilė Sederevičiūtė-Pačiauskienė, Vice-Rector for Studies; Aleksandra Sokolova, Vice-Head of International Relations Office; Indrė Kasputytė, Head Group of International Programmes; Vidmantė Krušinskaitė, Specialist of Public Communication Office (VILNIUS TECH ATHENA communicator); Vitalij Zenčenko, Senior Specialist Strategic Planning, Quality Management and Analysis Centre.
