It is with great pleasure that we inform about new scientific article of dr Agnieszka Krzyżewska, Dr. Sylwester Wereski and Dr. Mateusz Dobek (Department of Hydrology and Climatology UMCS) published in International Journal of Biometeorology:
Krzyżewska A., Wereski S., Dobek M., 2020. Summer UTCI variability in Poland in the twenty-first century. International Journal of Biometeorology, https://doi.org/10.1007/s00484-020-01965-2.
The article presents the variability of the UTCI bioclimatic index in summer in Poland in the 21st century. The UTCI index reflects the heat load of the human body by weather conditions. In summer, especially in the period from mid-July to mid-August, conditions related to heat stress most often occurred in the centre of the country, while conditions related to cold stress occurred in the mountains and, what is interesting, at the seaside. An increase in days with heat stress was observed, especially in the centre of the country.
According to the current List of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the article published in International Journal of Biometeorology is 100 points.
