The Rector and Senate of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin Dr Hab. Piotr Zagórski, Prof. UMCS Born on June 12, 1970. He was a graduate of the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences in 1994. He obtained his PhD in Earth Sciences in 2003, and his postdoctoral degree in 2014. Since 2019, he had been employed at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin as a university professor. He had been professionally associated with the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences, and later with the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management at UMCS, since 1994. He was a renowned researcher in the field of geomorphology and contemporary morphogenetic processes of polar areas, geoarchaeology, and modern measurement techniques. He led several polar expeditions to Spitsbergen. A member of the Committee on Polar Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Polish Polar Consortium, and the Association of Polish Geomorphologists. Awarded the Silver Medal for Long Service. |
