On 22 October this year, the XI International Conference "Climate of agricultural field" will be held, co-organized by the Department of Hydrology and Climatology, UMCS. The aim of the conference is to present the results of research on atmospheric, soil and hydrological droughts and precipitation deficits in various regions of Poland and Ukraine. These phenomena are closely related to the process of water circulation in nature, and have a significant impact on agricultural production. The above-mentioned issues will be discussed in reference to the existing climate change scenarios, indicating, among others, that due to the forecasted trends of air temperature increase and potential evaporation, the effects of the discussed phenomena (atmospheric and soil droughts) may be much greater in the near future.
We cordially invite you to the conference, which will be held in a hybrid form - online participation will be via MS Teams platform, while the stationary form is expected for up to 12 people in the building of the Polish Academy of Sciences Branch in Lublin at 1 Spokojna Street.
Registration of participation is possible until 5th October - details can be found in Announcement No. 2.
