We are very pleased to announce that the Journal of Cleaner Production published a new article co-authored by Dr Magdalena Kończak on the management of sewage sludge towards processed biochar:
Bożena Czech, Magdalena Kończak, Magdalena Rakowska, Patryk Oleszczuk, 2021. Engineered biochars from organic wastes for the adsorption of diclofenac, naproxen and triclosan from water systems. Journal of Cleaner Production, 288, 125686, 10.1016/j.jclepro.2020.125686
This paper evaluates the affinity of biochar from sewage sludge for selected pharmaceuticals present in the aquatic environment. In order to select the most effective adsorbent, biocarbon produced at different temperatures, carrier gas conditions and with different starting materials (addition of biomass to sewage sludge) were tested.
