EGU 2024 - NCN Grant Implementation Report

Today, April 14, 2024, marks the beginning of the annual General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (EGU 2024) in Vienna. The goal of the organizers is to bring together scientists from around the world to discuss a wide range of topics within Earth sciences, including planetary and space sciences. The conference provides a platform for young researchers to present their work, exchange ideas, and collaborate with experts from various fields of Earth sciences. This assembly is crucial for international cooperation and sharing the latest research findings and developments in physical geography and related sciences.

At the conference, as part of the reporting activities related to the implementation of the Polish-Ukrainian NCN OPUS grant 16 "Global, regional, and local factors conditioning the paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental record...", the following presentations will be made:

- Deciphering Middle-Late Pleistocene environmental changes: a multidisciplinary approach to Middle Dnieper loess-palaeosol sequences" - presented by Prof. Dr. hab. Maria Łanczont (see abstract);
- "Loess chromaticity as an environmental change recorder: spectrophotometric study of aeolian dust and its role in paleoclimate studies" - presented by Dr. hab. Przemysław Mroczek, Prof. UMCS (see abstract).
