District Stage of the Ecological Knowledge Olympiad 13/04/2024

On April 13, at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management of UMCS, we hosted participants of the district stage of the XXXIX Ecological Knowledge Olympiad.

This Olympiad is the most popular ecological competition in Poland addressed to students of secondary schools (secondary schools and technical schools).
54 students from all over the voivodeship took part in this year's edition in Lublin. The substantive scope of the Olympiad includes classical ecology, nature and environmental protection, agricultural and forest management, and socio-economic issues related to these topics.

The Lublin Landscape Parks Complex has been organizing the Olympics for several years. This year, our Faculty was very actively involved in the organization: prof. Ph.D. Irena Agnieszka Pidek (representing the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences of UMCS) as the chairwoman, and Dr. Małgorzata Stanicka (representing the Institute of Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management) as a member of the competition jury.
