We are pleased to inform that Maria Curie-Skłodowska University was ranked first by the Perspektywy Education Foundation in their latest report “International students in Poland 2017” which explores the current internationalization trends in higher education in Poland. UMCS achieved the top position in terms of “internationalization of universities” with the highest internalization rate of 6.72%.
According to the analysis, UMCS leads the way in the ranking of Polish best higher education institutions, with a total number of 1,600 international students. In the academic year 2017/18 there have been 670 new international students enrolled in study programmes at UMCS.
Out of all public higher education institution in Poland, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University has been attracting the greatest number of students from Ukraine (1,393 students). UMCS was also ranked high in terms of students from Belarus - 4th position with 135 students and 11th out of 20 other higher education institutionsfor Multiculturalism at universities.
“International students in Poland 2017” is a periodic report presenting the latest statistics on international students at Polish higher education institutions. The analysis also features unique, previously unpublished data from the Central Statistical Office in Poland. The publication looks at trends in the Polish education market and evolution of international students group throughout the past years – from various perspectives.
This year’s report is the 8th edition of the ranking. The publication was prepared within the “Study in Poland” programme which aims at promoting Polish higher education institutions abroad. The programme is supervised by the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) and the Perspektywy Education Foundation.
