In line with the Educational philosophy of UMCS, an outreach activity – language without borders was undertaken today which is part of the Welcome to Poland project of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.
The Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin is the largest public university in Poland on the eastern side of the Vistula River. It is an institution deeply rooted in the region, where since 1944, it has been serving as a cultural and opinion-forming actor. It also makes a significant contribution to building a knowledge-based economy and has a rich history of providing a wholesome education which is not only about the class room experience but also about practical activities. In line with this philosophy, an outreach activity - language without borders was undertaken today which is part of the Welcome to Poland project of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. Within the activity foreign staff and students are tasked with visiting different high schools and make presentations on various topical areas. The visit today was hosted at Zespół Szkół nr 5 in Lublin, the outreach team included; Robert Ainebyona a staff member (Uganda) working in the Welcome Center and Admission Office and, Pennina Shilongo (Namibia) MA International Relations final year student. The main focus of the presentations was to engage with Polish high school students and create cross cultural experiences. The activity was organized and supported by Dr. Ewelina Panas - Rector's Plenipotentiary for the internationalization of education and head of UMCS Welcome Center, Dr. Liliana from Faculty of Political Science and Journalism with support from National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
