Dear PhD students and students of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University from Ukraine,
The community of our University cannot remain indifferent to the disturbing and rapidly developing conflict on the Ukrainian-Russian border, which violates international laws and threatens human rights and democracy in your country.
In view of the dramatic events unfolding before the eyes of the entire world, we would like to express our solidarity with the entire Ukrainian society, and in particular with you, PhD students and students of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. We would like to assure you that in this difficult time, you can count on the support of your Alma Mater in terms of: financial aid, free places in student halls of residence for Ukrainian students, reduced tuition fees, as well as additional free places in the "Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Talents program" - an initiative which enables students to take up free education at our University. Specific decisions regarding the above-mentioned forms of support will depend on the development of the political situation in your country.
In conveying our solidarity with Ukraine and its people, we also express our hope for a peaceful normalization of the political situation.
