The university running group was established in 2016 to bring together students, faculty, staff and graduates of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University who share a passion for running as a form of spending leisure, leading a healthy lifestyle and competing with others in sports. Group members are into different forms of running competitions: mountain running and skyrunning (frequently covering ultramarathon distances), triathlon (swimming, cycling and running in a single competition), runmageddon races (obstacle course races – OCR) as well as street races. Members of UMCS Biega have already competed in a number of races in Poland and abroad, also joining passions for running with visiting sights.
No matter whether you are an experienced runner or an absolute novice willing to start your running adventure, you are more than welcome to the trainings of UMCS Biega, supervised by a professional athletics trainer Maciej Tarnowski, Ph.D. The trainings aim at developing running technique and general abilities necessary to practise injury-free running with better and better results. Pleasant atmosphere of trainings helps build motivation to develop one’s running strength.
Participation in UMCS Biega trainings satisfies the physical education requirement for your study programme.
