With deep regret, we inform you that on 4th April 2021 died, Professor dr hab. Tadeusz Pałka.
He was born on 10th February 1942 in Kazimierz Dolny.
He graduated in psychology in 1969 from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at the University of Warsaw. In 1974, he obtained a directing diploma at the State Higher School of Film, Television and Theater in Łódź. He received his postdoctoral degree in 2000. In 2005 he was awarded the title of professor of film arts. He was professionally associated with the Institute of Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Humanities of UMCS in Lublin in 2007-2015.
Professor Tadeusz Pałka was an outstanding specialist in film art and an expert in audiovisual arts history. He was an outstanding director and screenwriter of about 60 documentary films, in which he often referred to social problems and used the Lublin region theme. Awarded many times at Polish and foreign festivals. Member of the Board of the Documentary Film Section of the Polish Filmmakers Association. Supervisor of many master degree and doctoral theses.
In the professor's person, we bid farewell to an outstanding director, producer and academic teacher, highly distinguished for the University and the Faculty of Humanities.
