Business Mentoring Sessions is a series of events whose main goal is to inspire International students to bind their professional future with Lublin and create their own unique businesses.
On June 22, 2022, at the UMCS Academic Canteen "Trójka", dr Ewelina Panas, UMCS Rector's Proxy for Internationalization of Education, UMCS Welcome Center in cooperation with Lublin Global Community, EPI - European Pact for Integration and Stowarzyszenie Wolna Lubelszczyzna organized the second workshop in a series of such meetings with foreign entrepreneurs who came to Poland a few years ago, settled in Lublin and opened their own businesses. Then, the Rector's Proxy of UMCS for Internationalization of education, dr Ewelina Panas made opening remarks, followed by Dr. Marcin Garbowski, a representative of the Lublin City Hall who reiterated from her words why the city was part of such initiatives like the Business mentoring sessions. Thereafter the event was opened and moderated by Robert Ainebyona from the UMCS Welcome Center. The first expert of Business Mentoring Sessions was Counsel Maciej Gorzelak - A legal advisor since 2014 and a member of the District Chamber of Legal Advisers in Lublin. His presentation centered on the processes of setting up a legal company and the obligations that lie on the side of the entrepreneur. The event's second expert was Mr. Adeniyi Aderibigbe, a social entrepreneur and skills brokerage executive with a proven track record of working in academia, civil society, corporations, and non-profit organizations. He talked about his journey from being a student and how he transformed into an entrepreneur in Lublin. The third and last expert of the meeting was Dmitry Rossokhovatskiy a QA Lead and Business Analyst at DataArt with over 10 years of experience. To the students participating in the meeting, he shared experiences from his student life and how he was able to join the IT profession. He urged current students to seek mentors in their fields of interest and not give up also on following passions that are related to business in Lublin.
